Turmeric has many medicinal properties and it is used in the kitchen as it boosts our immunity and is good for the human body. It can be used in the garden to protect our plants and it supports organic farming.
There are many uses of turmeric in our garden. We find many chemicals, pesticides, and insecticides in the market but these are harmful to our health so it’s good to use products that are low-cost or zero-cost, affordable, and good for our health.
Avoid using chemical fertilizers pesticides and insecticides that cause a lot of hazardous effects on health.
That’s the main reason why we should use natural agents in gardens.
Turmeric rhizomes contain a substance called curcumin it is an anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and has hepatoprotective effect and it is very beneficial in boosting our immune system of ours. body
it is not only good for our human body but also has some amazing benefits in the garden.
With a small piece of turmeric rhizome, we can easily grow lots of turmeric in the garden.

1. ANT REPELLENT

Lots of ants are a threat to the garden but they seem to be sensitive to turmeric’s strong smell.
HOW TO USE TURMERIC AS AN ANT REPELLENT
Sprinkle the turmeric around the plants.
Ants can carry mealybugs to the growing ends of plants.
Mealybugs and ants have a symbiotic relationship in exchange for the honeydew excreted out of their anus. So ants control means automatically mealybugs control.

2. SOIL PEST CONTROL

You can get rid of soil pests particularly fungal roots by mixing soil and turmeric while making potting mix for pots.

3. METHOD FOR PEST CONTROL WHILE MAKING POTTING MIX

You can take about 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder in the soil while making potting mix or whenever you repot your plant. Don’t add too much turmeric powder. After adding turmeric powder,don’t forget to add water immediately. Otherwise the plant may go in stress. So keep them hydrate.
You can add one teaspoon of turmeric powder and 1 liter of water and spray this water on the effective areas of plants or you may give 1 cup of this turmeric water directly into your pots this will save your plants from fungal infection and give them good strength.

4. HEALING TREE WOUNDS

Open wounds or injuries in plants can harm them and this may lead to different infections, particularly fungal roots.
Turmeric has antiseptic, and antibacterial properties so you can make turmeric paste and apply it to the wound to save the plant’s stem or branches from fracture. Apply the paste then take a polythene or grafting tape to save the plant

5. USE TURMERIC PASTE AFTER PRUNING. TRIMMING
When we cut or prune branches during the rainy season we can apply turmeric paste to the cutting ends as it has got antiseptic and antibacterial properties plants will not suffer from fungal attacks.

6. METHOD TO CONTROL DIE BACK DISEASES IN ROSES

Roses suffer from die-back diseases. This is the blackening or browning of the tip of the rose which then travels downward towards the graft and may spread into the whole plant causing death it can be a branch dying or death of whole plant.
METHOD TO CURE DIE BACK DISEASES
Take 2 to 3 tablespoons of turmeric and 4 to 5 garlic cloves with 10 ml of neem oil
in one liter of water spray in the affected areas, every alternate day you can get rid of die back diseases.

7. TURMERIC AS A ROOTING AGENT

Turmeric can be used as a rooting agent You can develop some plants from cuttings mainly because of its anti-microbial and antifungal effects turmeric can be used as a rooting agent.
Dip the cutting end of the plant and put them in a pot Take out all the leaves from the plant, and keep the plant in a shaded area or where it can get indirect sunlight. Water the plant whenever it is necessary after checking the soil.
You can see new life in the plant, new green leaves coming out from its stem. It may take a month to have patience. Gardening is all about having patience.

8. TREATMENT OF POWDERY MILDEW

Often you can see white spots or thick powder granules on leaves, stems, or branches for example in the hibiscus plant. Turmeric can be used to cure this.

Take two tablespoon of turmeric, 100 ml of milk, two tablespoons of distilled white vinegar,with 1-liter of water and spray this on the affected areas, after some time just dust them off you can get rid of them , this can cure powdery mildew.

9. SPRINKLE TURMERIC ON THE LEAVES

If your leaves are eaten by bugs, you can sprinkle turmeric powder directly on the leaves. Mostly in the Brinjal plant, this can be seen and turmeric powder is most effective in this plant.
10. TREAT YOUR WOUND OR BUG BITES WHILE WORKING IN GARDEN
Not but least if you have a cut or wound while working in the garden do not forget to apply this magical paste to your wound. It will heal very quickly.
